On Wednesday, the Illinois General Assembly passed a police reform bill authored by the Legislative Black Caucus. If signed by Governor Pritzker, the bill would end cash bail for non-violent offenders state-wide, require all police officers in the state to wear body cameras, expand use of force guidelines and training for police, prohibit chokeholds, and require records regarding misconduct to be maintained.
