Recently, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (“CMS”), which regulate nursing homes, lifted the ban on visitors. CMS had imposed the restriction in March in an effort to control outbreaks of the coronavirus. Many advocates for nursing home residents had been asking for a repeal of the ban, arguing that residents suffered from anxiety and depression since the ban was imposed.
Now, all nursing homes are allowed to have outdoor visits with social distancing. Read more here.
