The AARP recently reported that less than a quarter of the COVID-19 vaccine does distributed by the federal government have been administered. Unlike most COVID vaccines, which will be distributed by states, the federal government is leading a program to provide vaccines to nursing homes. Under the plan, the government contracted with CVS, Walgreens, and other pharmacies to supply and administer vaccines at no cost to long-term care residents and staff.
